“Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty to Help Our
Veteran”
NO
MID YEAR REPORT NEEDED
Yearend report to
District President by April 10, 2012
Yearend
report to Department Chairman by April 20, 2012
This
program is a very challenging and important program that has been
underworked and under reported in years past. Legislators are very
concerned about what people in their areas want and think. We should
maintain contact with our officials at every level. We want them to
know what we are thinking and what we need for them to pursue on
issues concerning Veterans. We should get to know each of our
representatives and they should get to know us. Visits to their
offices, phone calls, letter writing and e-mails are important when
they are working on legislative issues concerning our Veterans
benefits and welfare. Encouraging non registered voters to register is
important in GET OUT and VOTE.
Each year the VFW issues
Legislative and Security Priority Goals found at www.vfw.org. Each
District President has spun the wheel of fortune and been given a
priority goal that her District will be responsible for promoting. I
will be monitoring the progress of these promotions. I am hoping to
see every district do an outstanding job of promoting all aspects of
our Legislative program.
STATEWIDE
PROJECT
V.O.T.E.
(VETERANS OPPORTUNITY TO ELECT) will be our statewide project. I
anticipate monthly reports from each chairman, Auxiliary president or
district chairmen. Your method of reporting will be up to you and is
required in a timely fashion No exceptions or excuses.
