“Going Above and Beyond the Call of Duty to Help Our Veteran”

HOSPITAL PLEDGE

$.50 per member (if possible) is due in September of each year and is based on your membership as of June 30, 2011 (earmark and send to Department Treasurer.) Allotments to VA Clinics and Hospitals to be used by the VAVS Representatives, are based on the money we receive. The sooner you get this pledge in, determines how quickly VAVS Reps receive their money to help our veterans.

 PATIENTS DAY OUT/IN

You can take a patient out for the day or hold a luncheon at your post. If a patient is unable to leave a facility or their home, do something for them as a treat IN their home or facility. When you do this, be sure and get pictures and if possible get it in the newspaper. Go to the nursing homes and adopt a vet for the year-and make it an ongoing thing for the whole year, focusing on birthday and other special holidays.
